According to the news report, law enforcement officers stated that an NYPD Highway Patrol officer, who was responding to a call for police assistance, hit a pedestrian, causing serious injuries.
The pedestrian accident caused the victim, a woman in her 30s, to be severely injured. The woman was transported to Jacobi Hospital, and she is listed as being in critical condition. Law enforcement officials state that the victim is in serious but stable condition at the Jacobi Hospital.
