BROOKLYN, N.Y. — A fiery automobile crash involving multiple vehicles in Windsor Terrace sent four people to the hospital according to 1010 Wins. The accident appeared to have occurred along the Prospect Expressway in Brooklyn, according to ABC 7 N.Y. Responding authorities said that one of the vehicles involved in the accident erupted into flames immediately after the initial collision. The crash was reported to authorities around 5 a.m. Officers from NYPD blocked all traffic headed east on Prospect Expressway, starting from Fort Hamilton Parkway. There was little information about how the crash happened or the nature and extent of the injuries suffered by the victims.
Multiple vehicle accidents occur in a variety of ways, and, as such, determining who might be at fault for the crash could be difficult. Insurance companies will try to spread blame out to all parties, including people who were injured, to try to limit their financial liability. Obtaining the services of a highly experienced auto accident lawyer could help determine who is at fault for the accident and distribute responsibility for injuries on the shoulders of those who caused the crash.
When a highly experienced and motivated accident lawyer gets involved in an accident case from the start, then the lawyer has the most exceptional opportunity to discover and preserve evidence. The best place to start in an accident investigation is obtaining copies of all accident reports, also called collision reports by NYPD.
Collision reports may be picked up at the precinct whose officers investigated the crash. Also, motorists can access NYPD’s collision report portal online to get a copy. Reports authored by police might not be completed immediately, and it could take a couple of days. On some occasions, especially when the accident involves a fatality or serious injury, the investigating police department might call out their collision analysis group to reconstruct the crash. Those reports generally take a lot of time to complete.
The victim of a crash can assist his or her lawyer even if reports have not been completed by providing as much information as possible about the crash, including witness names and photos of the scene, along with a detailed description of the incident.
