According to an online news report posted on abc7ny.com, a driver has been tragically killed in a major multi-vehicle accident in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, New York. Police stated that a BMW had a tire blowout causing the BMW to collided with two other motor vehicles. The accident resulted in the tragic death of a driver in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.
The motor vehicle accident occurred at the 600 block of Grand Street at approximately 1:15 a.m. Law enforcement officers allege the driver of a BMW 7-series was traveling westbound on Grand Street. The BMW 7 had a right rear tire-blowout that caused the BMW driver to lose control, move into an eastbound lane and then strike a Honda Element and a Honda Odyssey van.
The Honda Odyssey van then collided with a tree, killing the 26-year-old driver. The victim was tragically pronounced dead at the Woodhull Hospital.
The NYPD states that the victim was a man from Brooklyn. The 30-year-old male driver of the BMW, along with his 30-year-old passenger, were transported to Bellevue Hospital with non-life-threatening personal injuries. The motor vehicle crash remains under investigation.
No criminal charges have been filed against any of the drivers.
