According to a news article posted on abc7ny.com, a 65-year-old man was severely injured in a two-car accident. The 65-year-old man’s car flipped over on a sidewalk in Canarsie after another driver struck his car. The motor vehicle accident happened on Tuesday afternoon along East 105th Street and Avenue L.
Law enforcement officials stated that the victim was operating a Subaru Forester along Avenue L in an eastbound direction when the man’s Subaru was hit by a 17-year-old who was traveling northbound on 105th Street.
The force of the collision caused the Subaru to flip over onto the sidewalk. The 65-year-old driver was rescued from his car when firefighters were able to cut him out of his overturned car. The 65-year-old man was transported to Brookdale University Hospital. He is listed in critical condition.
The 17-year-old Mercedes driver did not sustain injuries, and the driver remained on the accident scene. The accident investigation is ongoing.
