BROOKLYN, NY- The brooklynreporter.com reports that a car drove into a gift shopin Dyker Heights on Tuesday, June 5, 2018. The accident is similar to one that occurredat a café in Bay Ridge just a few days ago.
The Brooklyn car accident happened at around 11:00 p.m.at the intersection of Eighth Avenue and 68th Street when a Lexus reportedly ran through a stop sign and was struck by an SUV. The collision caused the SUV to lose control. The SUV then crashed into the Chung Yi Gift Inc. shop, located at 6724 Eighth Ave in Brooklyn.
Three people were injured in the crash, but two of them refused medical attention. The third person suffered serious injuries but was said to be in stable condition.
One witness was disturbed by the dangerous driving, which occurred in a residential neighborhood where she said children are pleasant.
Just four days prior tothis accident, a drunk driver ran into an American Greetings shop in Bay Ridge. Last week, a car crashed into a café in Bed-Stuy.
About 60 crashes into buildings occur every day in the United States leading to an average of 10 people being seriously injured.There are a number of factors that lead tothese accidents, but almost all of them are the result of a driver losing control of their vehicle. In 56% of accidents, the operator of the vehicle made an error, often by confusing the gas and the brake. Other causes include drunk driving, which is the cause in about 17% of cases, traffic accidents in 11% of accidents, and medical emergencies, which account for 8% of storefront crashes. About 7% are intentional “ram raid” actions, in which a person drives into a building for the purpose of robbing the businesses.
How Do I Get My Police Report?
Within hours of an arrest or accident, a police report is generated by the officer tasked with hanling the incident. However, until the case is fully wrapped up and charges are filed, it is difficult to access the whole police report and you’ll only be able to see the “public portion” of the report which withholds information until the case is completely closed.
