All Akorn Medications Recalled by the FDA
All drugs, whether prescription or over-the-counter, bearing the Akorn brand or manufactured by Akorn for other companies, are subject to a recall. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has confirmed that Akorn Operating Company LLC is recalling all of its drugs within expiry following its shutdown. The company has ceased and shut down all operations in the United States and terminated all employees at domestic sites.
Akorn is recalling various human and pet products voluntarily due to the closures and discontinuation of its quality program. The company cannot support or guarantee that the products will meet all intended specifications through the labeled shelf life. Therefore, further distribution or use of any remaining products in the market should cease immediately.
