Contaminated Beef Products Are Being Recalled. A meat company in Greene is recalling nearly 2,000 pounds of beef that may be contaminated with fecal material, state officials announced.
The recall applies to 1,936 pounds of ground beef produced by Bubier Meats. The packages affected by the recall bear the number “EST. 4” inside the “state” mark of inspection, according to the state Department of Agriculture.
Contaminated Beef Included In The Recall
The products include two whole sides of beef carcasses stamped “Est. 4”; 45, 10-pound bags of beef labeled Bubier Meats “Hamburg”; 30 10-pound bags of ground beef labeled “Caldwell Farms All Natural Beef”; and 450 pounds of beef primal cuts labeled “Caldwell Farms All Natural Beef.”
Fecal contamination is a source of E. coli, a potentially deadly bacteria that can cause bloody diarrhea and dehydration.
