NORTH FORT MEYERS, FL- NBC-2.com reports that a two-vehicle collision took place on the Edison Bridge causing one of the vehicles to fall into the Caloosahatchee River. Three individuals were hospitalized after the crash.
The accident happened at about 1 in the afternoon on Saturday, October 28, 2018. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Geovonnie Landers-Carulli struck another vehicle from behind and then his car was ran into the water. The police report that Landers-Carulli was driving around 60 miles per hour when he crossed over the bridge, which has a posted speed limit of 45 miles per hour.
A passenger in Landers-Carulli’s vehicle, Supriya Singh, and the driver of the other vehicle, Suzanne Gy, were both transported to Lee Memorial Hospital for treatment.
Landers-Carulli is now facing charges for “careless driving, property damage, driving with a suspended license and DUI.”
