According to a news report posted on nydailynews.com, a man was tragically killed when he was struck and killed by Bud Light delivery truck in Queens, New York. The 35-year-old, father of two immigrated to the United States from Mexico to pursue the American Dream. The man’s life was tragically cut short leaving his wife and two children, who are living in Mexico, without his financial support, companionship, and love.
The victim has been working in New York City for about 11 years and was known for being a law-abiding, hard-working family man. The victim was planning to return to his family who are living in Tenango de Doria, Mexico by the end of 2020.
The victim’s brother stated that his brother was a “very good man” and never caused any problems for other people. The victim’s brother worked to have his brother’s body returned to the victim’s homeland. The victim’s brother stated that his brother was a very honorable man who worked hard to send money back home to support his family.
The victim worked as a food delivery driver and used a moped to make the deliveries. According to the accident news report, the victim was traveling eastbound along Astoria Boulevard when he struck and run over by a Bud Light 18-wheeler tractor-trailer truck.
The accident occurred on Astoria Boulevard while the truck was attempting to turn right onto the southbound lane of Crescent Street in Queens, New York when he struck the victim who was riding his red scooter eastbound along Astoria Boulevard in Queens. The victim was transported to the Mount Sinai Hospital in Queens where he was unfortunately pronounced dead. The victim’s family believes that their loved one was making a delivery at the time of the fatal accident. The report states that the accident was so catastrophic that it took 10 minutes to extricate the victim from underneath Bud Light truck and was alive until he passed away at the hospital.
Witnesses of the accident stated that the Bud Light truck and the victim were traveling in the same direction and both drivers had the light when the Bud Light truck driver turned right and cutoff the victim causing the accident. The truck driver remained at the fatal accident.
