The EEOC lawsuit claimed supervisors and other employees at a Lynwood, Calif., Jiffy Lube franchise operated by The Oil Shoppe Inc. created a hostile work environment by making explicit sexual remarks and other egregious comments to female employees, two of whom were teenagers.

The alleged violations of the 1964 Civil Rights Act are punishable by compensatory and punitive damages of up to $100,000 per victim for employers with more than 100 workers but fewer than 201.
As part of the settlement, Alamitos Enterprises, which has taken over the franchise from The Oil Shoppe, has also agreed to provide training to its employees and managers.
