The Parker Waichman team analyzed research from the U.S. Department of Transportation to determine which counties in the United States had the most truck crash fatalities.

To create our graphic, we analyzed fatal accidents involving a large truck per 100,000 people between 2014 and 2018 based on data from the U.S. Department of Transportation. For the purpose of our study, we only reviewed counties with more than 25,000 residents. These were the top ten counties with the most fatal truck accidents along with their rate per 100,000 people:
