The golf pro who has won the Masters Tournament the most times is Jack Nicklaus, with six wins, which took place in 1963, 1965, 1966, 1972, 1975, and 1986. Nicklaus’s nickname was “the Golden Bear,” and he is considered to be one of the greatest golfers of all time. His win in 1966 made him the first player to win the Masters Tournament two years in a row.
Golf’s modern-day hero, Tiger Woods, is a close second to Nicklaus, with five Masters Tournament wins under his belt. Tiger Woods won his first back in 1997, followed by wins in 2001, 2002, and 2005. After dealing with back issues for years, he made an unbelievable comeback and earned his fifth win in 2019.
Another aspect of these tournament-winning golf pros that we explored in this infographic was the countries they hailed from. A majority of the winners have been from the United States, with 62 Masters Tournaments won by 38 American golfers. Spain and South Africa tied for the second most, with five wins by three different golfers for both countries.
