According to a news article posted on abc7ny.com, a serious motor vehicle accident on the Southern State Parkway resulted in four people being injured and two people tragically losing their lives. The accident occurred on Southern State Parkway by exit 21 in Roosevelt, New York. The collision took place at around 8:30 p.m. on Thursday. The police officers handling the accident scene stated that there were only two cars involved in the accident.
A 23-year-old woman from Bay Shore and a 23-year-old man from Brooklyn were involved in the accident. The two accident victims were pronounced dead at the accident scene.
The four other people involved in the accident were transported to area hospitals for treatment of serious personal injuries. Two of the four were listed as in serious condition.
The Southern State Parkway was shut down from about 8:30 p.m. Thursday to 3:30 a.m. Friday.
The accident is currently under investigation, and the New York State Police are asking the public to report any helpful information.
