BROOKLYN, NY – According to an online news report posted on nbcnewyork.com, a U.S. Postal Service mail truck struck a 20-year-old woman’s car and killed her on Tuesday morning in Brooklyn, New York. The woman was operating a Honda Accord, and she was heading southbound along Atkins Avenue in East New York. The woman was suddenly hit by a postal truck that was heading in an eastbound direction along Cozine Avenue. According to law enforcement, the fatal collision took place at 1:50 a.m.
The 20-year-old woman tragically passed away as a result of the impact. She died at the scene of the accident. The victim’s name was not made public. The 48-year-old U.S. Postal Service truck driver sustained a head injury, and he was transported to Brookdale University Hospital. The truck driver is listed in stable condition.
The reason for the fatal accident is currently under investigation by law enforcement.
