A Pedestrian Struck And Killed In Bay Shore. Suffolk County (New York) police are investigating a crash in which a woman walking in Bay Shore was killed on Tuesday night.
Police said Ishwer Wadhwa, 66, was crossing 5th Avenue around 8:45 p.m. when she was hit by a 2000 Nissan Maxima traveling south, Newsday reports. The driver of the Nissan, Jerson Ventura, 32, of Wyandanch, drove to the Third Precinct to report the crash, according to a police news release.
Ventura’s car had been impounded for a safety check
A physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner pronounced Wadhwa dead at the scene, Newsday reports. Wadhwa was from Bay Shore. Police said Ventura’s car had been impounded for a safety check. “at this point,” no criminal charges are expected to be filed, a police spokeswoman said on Wednesday morning.
