Route 9 Old Bridge accident
OLD BRIDGE – According to Centraljersey.com, a couple from Manalapan died in a car accident that took place in Old Bridge. The police are carrying out the investigation into the crash, in which three vehicles were involved.
The incident took place in the northbound lanes of Route 9 at about 5:50 in the morning. A 34-year-old man driving a 2003 Honda Pilot struck the back of a 2013 Toyota Prius. The Prius’ driver was a 37-year-old man who was carrying two passengers in the back of his vehicle, a 72-year-old man and a 71-year-old woman.
The couple in the back of the Prius died at the scene of the crash.
A 2004 Nissan Altima was also involved in the crash.
The driver of the Altima and the driver of the Prius were both taken to the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital for treatment of injuries that are not considered as threatening.
Rear end accidents are common and are almost always completely avoidable. Drivers who fail to pay attention are the most likely cause of these crashes.
