According to law enforcement, a 20-year-old driver was speeding when he crashed into an overpass support located on the eastbound Belt Parkway by 150th Street. The accident occurred across from Kennedy Airport and nearby the edge of the Baisley Park Pond. The fatal collision occurred at approximately 11 p.m. on Sunday, according to police. The news report stated that the wreckage of the Nissan Altima was severe and a twisted mess.
Emergency medical personnel transported both the passenger and the driver to Jamaica Hospital for emergency medical attention. The passenger tragically passed away from his injuries, and law enforcement officers are trying to establish the passenger’s identity to notify the victim’s next of kin.
The driver is currently in critical condition as of Monday morning.
