According to an online news report posted on radio.com, a severe multi-car pileup accident occurred on Henry Hudson Bridge. The accident involved approximately 27 motor vehicles, according to law enforcement officers.
The multi-car accident happened in the bridge’s southbound lane and occurred at approximately 6:30 p.m. last Wednesday. The NYPD stated that there were multiple injuries sustained in the accident.
The collision caused significant traffic delays. Emergency responders trudged through the snow in order to assist those who were injured.
The emergency responders triaged the injured at the scene of the accident in order to make sure those with life-threatening injuries received life-saving care. Fortunately, none of the accident victims sustained fatal or near-fatal injuries in the accident. According to the FDNY, six accident injury victims were transported to local area hospitals.
All southbound lanes of the Henry Hudson Bridge were closed as a result of the massive collision.
