Man struck by a pickup truck
EAST END, NY – According to a pedestrian accident news story on patch.com, a pedestrian from Sag Harbor, New York, was severely injured after being struck by a pickup truck along Noyack Road close to Valley Road. The Southampton Town Police reported that the pedestrian accident occurred at around 5:24 in the evening. The driver, a 44-year-old-man from Riverhead, New York, was driving his Ford Ranger pickup truck north at the moment of collision with the victim.
According to Suffolk County Police Department, the 45-year-old victim was airlifted by the Suffolk County Police Department’s aviation unit to a local area hospital. The driver stayed at the pedestrian accident seems to be non-criminal in nature, according to police reports.
The news report states that law enforcement arrived at the scene and began rendering first aid to the pedestrian until the Sag Harbor Volunteer Ambulance arrived to transport the victim to a local area hospital.
The Southampton Town Police Department’s detective division asks for witnesses to come forward if they can provide any information about the accident. The pedestrian accident is currently under investigation.
