Mother And Two Children Injured When Hit By Truck. A mother and her two children were hospitalized after they were struck by a cement truck in Queens on Wednesday afternoon, December 16.
The accident happened just after 2:30 p.m. near the intersection of Junction Boulevard and 55th Avenue in Corona, ABC7NY reports.
The truck driver was heading south on Junction Boulevard, turning onto 55th Avenue, when he struck the woman and children, who were crossing the street. The FDNY said the three victims were taken to Elmhurst Hospital. The mother was said to have been more severely injured than her children, according to ABC7NY.
A photo on ABC7’s web site shows what appears to be a long skid mark from the cement truck’s front right tire. The television station reports that police are interviewing the cement truck driver but no charges were filed immediately.
