Bosch Skilsaw Miter Saws are being recalled for laceration hazard, according to a U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announcement.
About 22,149 defective Bosch Skilsaw Miter Saws are involved in the recall. The miter saws, which were manufactured in China, were imported by Robert Bosch Tool Corporation of Mount Prospect, Illinois and sold at Lowe’s Home Centers nationwide and OC Tanner. The recalled saws were sold from January 2012 to April 2012.
The lower guard on the Bosch Skilsaw Miter Saws can break and contact the blade during use, which poses a laceration hazard to users. To date, the firm has not received any reports of incidents or injuries in connection with this recall.
The recalled Bosch Skilsaw Miter Saw is a 10-inch compound miter saw that bears model number 3316 and date code 111, 112, 201, 202, 203, or 204. The model number and date code can be found on the lower right side of the nameplate, which can be found on the motor housing. The Skilsaw logo appears at the top of the upper blade guard and on the dust collection bag.
