The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) just announced <"https://www.yourlawyer.com/practice_areas/product_liability">two recalls, one by Nordica USA and the other by the Disney Store or fall and choking hazards.
Nordica USA issued a recall to repair 4,500 XBi ALU Skis and Binding Plates that can crack and break, causing the skier to lose control and posing a fall hazard to skiers, as well as causing the potential for skiers to suffer injuries.Ă‚Â The recalled XBi ALU Skis and Binding Plates were made in Italy; distributed by Nordica USA, of West Lebanon, New Hampshire; and sold at ski retailers nationwide from August 2006 through December 2008 for between $800 and $1,500.
The Nordica XBi ALU Skis and Binding Plates binding components on the following Nordica ski models and years:
- 2006:Ă‚Â MACH3POWER
- 2007:Ă‚Â Ă‚Â Ă‚Â DOBSPIT, MACH3, MACH 2, MACH3POWER, HELLCAT, FIREFOX, and DOBPROSL
- 2008:Ă‚Â FIREFOX, DOBPROSL, and DOBPROGS

The CPSC has also announced a recall by importer/retailer Disney Store USA LLC, of Pasadena, California in which 20,000 Playhouse Disney “Handy Manny” Toy Tool Sets, which were made in China, because the tools contain eyes that can separate, posing a choking hazard to young children. In this case, Disney received three reports of detached eyes, including two reports of children who started to choke on the pieces. The recalled Playhouse Disney “Handy Manny” Tool Set is a plastic, eight-piece toy set that includes a toolbox, hammer, saw, pliers, wrench, tape measure, and two screwdrivers. The name “Handy Manny” is embossed on one side of the toolbox and the UPC (#405144100614 or #422147400633) is located on the product’s packaging. The recalled Playhouse Disney “Handy Manny” Toy Tool Sets were sold exclusively at the Disney Store nationwide from October 2007 through January 2009 and sold for about $15.
The CPSC is advising consumers to immediately take the recalled Playhouse Disney “Handy Manny” Toy Tool Set away from children and return it to any Disney Store for a full refund. Disney Store can be reached toll-free at (866) 902-2798 between 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. PT Monday through Friday, or at the firm’s Website at www.DisneyStore.com.
