Distributor DEWALT Industrial Tool Company, of Towson, Maryland has voluntarily <"https://www.yourlawyer.com/practice_areas/product_liability">recalled about 9,000 DEWALT D51825 and D51850 Framing Nailers, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) just announced.
The DEWALT Nailers have been recalled because the bump action trigger on the framing nailers could have been incorrectly assembled during production, which would allow the nailer to eject a fastener unexpectedly or cause the trigger lock-off not to function. This potential assembling error can pose a serious injury hazard to the user or bystander. To date, no injuries or incidents have been reported.
The DEWALT Nailers, which were manufactured in Mexico, were sold at wholesale distributors and retailers nationwide from January 2008 through September 2008 and retailed for about $280.
DEWALT framing nailers with model numbers and date codes listed below are included in the recall:
Clipped Head Framing Nailer: Model Number D51825; Date Code Range 20080249-20082749
Full Round Head Framing Nailer: Model Number D51850; Date Code Range 20080249-20082749.
The CPSC is advising consumers to immediately stop using the framing nailers and contact DEWALT for instructions on receiving a free replacement bump action trigger.
