About 6,200 Farm Glass and Metal Spiral Tea Light Holders are being recalled for fire hazard, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) just announced.
The recalled Farm Glass & Metal Spiral Tea Light Holders were manufactured in China; imported by the Nantucket Distributing Co., Inc. of Middleboro, Massachusetts; and sold at Christmas Tree Shops in the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, and Midwest from July 2011 through March 2012.
The retailer of the recalled tea light holders is Christmas Tree Shops of Union, New Jersey and the defective Farm Glass & Metal Spiral Tea Light Holders sold for $5.00.
Due to the design of the product, the recalled Farm Glass & Metal Spiral Tea Light Holders can burn with a high flame, which poses a fire hazard to consumers. To date, Christmas Tree Shops has received one report of a tea light burning with a high flame that resulted in a burn to a consumer’s hand.
This recall involves a decorative spiral tea light holder that is made from a painted glass with a red, orange, and green floral design. A spiral-shaped metal insert for holding three tea lights is placed within the glass container. The SKU/UPC number, 000015931955, is located on a label that can be found on the bottom of the glass.
