A product recall involving about 40 <"https://www.yourlawyer.com/practice_areas/product_liability">Gas Fireplaces has been implemented due to laceration hazard, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) just announced.
The defective gas fireplaces were manufactured in Canada by Kingsman Fireplaces, of Canada and sold by authorized distributors and specialty fireplace stores nationwide from April 2008 through December 2010 for between $1,700 and $2,900.
Delayed ignition can cause the recalled fireplace’s propane gas to explode and break or shatter the glass door. This poses a laceration hazard to consumers nearby. To date, Kingsman Fireplaces has received two reports of fireplace glass doors breaking. No injuries have been reported.
This recall involves direct vent gas fireplaces sold under the name “Skyline Marquis collection.” They run on propane gas and the following model numbers are being recalled. The model number is on the rating plate located on the bottom of the fireplace near the valve control.

The CPSC is advising consumers to immediately stop using the recalled fireplaces and turn off the gas supply to the fireplace. Contact Kingsman Fireplaces to schedule a free repair.
