Kawasaki USA just issued a recall for its Utility Vehicles due to fire hazard, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).

About 3,900 Kawasaki Utility Vehicles are involved in the recall. The faulty Utility Vehicles were manufactured in the United States; distributed by Kawasaki Motors Corp. USA, of Irvine, California; and sold at Kawasaki dealers, nationwide, from June 2011 to February 2012 for between $6,700 and $8,200.

The Utility Vehicle’s fuel tube can scrape against the air cleaner housing and develop holes, posing a fire hazard. To date, Kawasaki has not received any reports of incidents or injuries.

This recall involves model year 2012 Kawasaki four-wheeled, off-highway Utility Vehicles constructed with side-by-side seating for two people, automobile style controls, a bench seat, a rollover protection structure, and a cargo bed. The vehicles are available in the green, red, black, and camouflage and include the following model names, model numbers, and colors.

• Mule 600 in Model Number KAF400BCF; sold in green.
• Mule 610 4 x 4 in Model Number KAF400ACF; sold in red or green.
• Mule 610 4 x 4 XC in Model Number KAF400DCF or KAF400ECF; sold in black or camouflage.

The brand name appears on the sides and tailgate of the cargo bed and the model name appears on the sides of the front cowl; the model number can be found on a label under the seat, which flips up. The abbreviation “4WD” can be found on the sides of the 610 models’ cargo bed.

The firm is advising consumers to immediately stop using the recalled Utility Vehicles and contact their Kawasaki dealer to schedule a free inspection and repair. Kawasaki can be reached between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Pacific Time (PT), Monday through Friday, toll-free, at 1.866.802.9381, or at its website at www.kawasaki.com. Kawasaki noted it is contacting its customers directly.

In 2010, Kawasaki Motors Corp. recalled about 4,000 KLX110 Off-Road Motorcycles over a faulty housing for the ignition switch could allow water to enter and activate the electric starter unintentionally. The defect posed a serious hazard of injury or death.

Mom died as a result of nursing home negligence. The general consensus was that she was old and near death anyway...so,not worth much monetarily!!!The people at Parker Waichman felt otherwise. They handled the case and treated my sister and myself as though we were their ONLY clients. We were most fortunate to meet the AMAZING Cybele Louis and her team....Stephanie San Filippo and Cindy Custodio. They were sensitive to the needs of our family but also tough with our awful opponents!!!! They accomplished more in a few short months than had been done in six years!!!! I also thank the reception crew who took my endless calls!!!!(Special thanks to Stephanie for putting up with my rants!!!!)
