Kickboard USA just issued a recall for its child Scooters over a laceration hazard, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) just announced.
About 5,600 Scooters are involved in the recall. The child Mini Micro Scooters were manufactured in Germany by Micro-Mobility Ltd. of Kusnacht, Switzerland and imported by Kickboard USA of Grand Rapids, Michigan. The defective Scooters were sold from May 2012 to July 2012 at independent toy stores, Amazon.com, and Kickboardusa.com for about $85.
The one-piece plastic platform that covers the front wheelbase on the child Scooters can break, posing a laceration hazard to children. To date, no incidents or injuries have been reported.
This recall is for the three-wheeled Mini Micro Scooter for children ages 3-5. The Scooter was sold in blue, orange, pink, and aqua. The word “Micro” is written in black and blue letters on the metal handlebar and is also imprinted on the black hand grips. The words “Mini Micro” is written on the front plastic covering. The following recalled model numbers and serial numbers can be found on a sticker on the bottom of the scooter:
• Model Number MM0079; Serial Numbers 00061617 to 00064364 and 00064767 to 00065762.
• Model Number MM0080; Serial Numbers 00066371 to 00666401 and 00097291 to 00098286
• Model Number MM0109; Serial Numbers 00093571 to 00093870.
• Model Number MM0113; Serial Numbers 00067871 to 00068370.
