A motorcyclist in Queens was injured in a hit-and-run car crash. Police are looking for the hit-and-run driver, who was reportedly driving a red Cadillac SRS Sport Utility vehicle. The accident happened on Aug. 19 at around 4:30 p.m. at 85-21 37th Avenue.
According to WABC, the motorcyclist was injured when the car tried to make a U-turn in front of him. The motorcyclist struck the car and flew off his bike. Then, the car allegedly fled the scene headed west on 37th Avenue. The victim was transported to Elmhurst General Hospital with a broken hand. He was reportedly in serious, but stable condition. WABC reports that the driver is described as a 20- to 30-year-old white or Hispanic male with black hair. Police are asking anyone with information to call 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).
A 43-year-old bicyclist in Brooklyn was recently injured by a possible hit-and-run, according to ABC7. The victim collided with a vehicle, possibly a black jeep, at Fulton Street and Tompkins Avenue. Witnesses say the car left the scene. The bicyclist was transported to Kings County hospital in critical condition.
In Long Island, a drunken hit-and-run driver struck and injured three Stony Brook students. University police say the driver fled the scene but was later spotted and arrested. The driver, a 23-year-old man from Palm Coast, Florida was charged with driving while intoxicated and leaving the scene of an accident involving personal injury.
