Nautilus Bowflex® Ultimate 2 Home Gyms
Approximately 78,000 Nautilus Bowflex® Ultimate 2 Home Gyms are being recalled due to risk of injury. Of note, about 68,000 Nautilus Bowflex® Ultimate 2 Home Gyms were recalled on December 6, 2007, also for risk of injury. The recall involves Ultimate 2 Home Gyms manufactured in China and imported via Nautilus Inc., of Vancouver, Washington. The CPSC advised that the horizontal seat rail is designed to be latched in a vertical position for storage and, if not manually latched, can fall unexpectedly on the user or a bystander, posing a risk of serious injury. Nautilus has received 18 reports of injuries caused by unlatched seat rails that have fallen, resulting in head and shoulder lacerations, some requiring stitches or staples.

The Nautilus Bowflex® Ultimate 2 Home Gyms are equipped with pulleys, resistance rods, and other equipment, which allow the user to perform a variety of exercises; “Bowflex Ultimate 2” is written on the vertical part of the frame. The Nautilus Bowflex® Ultimate 2 Home Gyms were sold at specialty fitness retailers nationwide and through direct Nautilus sales from June 2005 through January 2009 and retailed for about $2,300. The CPSC reports that consumers may continue to use their home gyms for exercising, but should not place the seat rail in the vertical (storage) position until the repair is performed. Registered owners are being sent a free repair kit; owners who have not received a repair kit by March 10, 2009 should contact Nautilus at (800) 259-9019 between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. PT Monday through Friday, or at the firm’s Website at www.bowflex.com.

Seventh Avenue Tealight Candleholders

Seventh Avenue has issued a recall for about 430 Tealight Candleholders due to fire hazard because the faceted resin accents on the sides of the candleholder can ignite, posing a fire hazard. Seventh Avenue has received one report of the candleholder igniting and resulting in property damage. The recalled product involves a wire-formed tealight candleholder with ball feet; the sides have small and large round resin accents in amber and red. The holder holds up to five tealight candles, which are included with the product. The model number is 609073 and is located on the original packaging.

The recalled Seventh Avenue Tealight Candleholders were imported by Berkeley Designs, of Hawthorne, California; were manufactured in China; were sold at Seventh Avenue’s spring 2008 catalogs and online at www.seventhavenue.com from February 2008 through October 2008; and retailed for about $10. The CPSC is advising consumers to immediately stop using the recalled Seventh Avenue Tealight Candleholder and return it to Seventh Avenue for a full refund or store credit, and a $10 coupon; all known users have been contacted. Seventh Avenue can be reached toll-free at 1-800-991-4442 between 8:00 a.m. and 12:00 a.m. CT Monday through Friday, or at the firm’s Website at www.seventhavenue.com

Alpargatas Children’s Flip-Flops
