Toys’R’Us Recalls Pacifier Clips that Pose Choking Hazard

Toys‘R’Us has recalled Babies‘R’Us pacifier clips because of a choking hazard, the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced on September 8.

The spring on the pacifier clip’s mechanism can break and release small parts that can be a choking hazard for the baby, according to the CPSC.

Babies‘R’Us has received two reports of the pacifier clips breaking, but to date, no injuries have been reported.

This recall involves Babies‘R’Us pacifier clips sold in different colors and character designs. The pacifier clip designs include a red monster, a blue monster, a monkey, a giraffe, and owl with one eye closed, and an owl with both eyes open. The pacifier clips have a circular plastic cover affixed to a metal spring clip and a fabric strip with snaps at the other end. The recalled pacifier clips have model number 5F6237F and ^®2014 Geoffrey, LLC engraved on the back of the plastic cover. Images of the recalled pacifier clips are shown in the recall announcement on the CPSC website.

The pacifier clips were sold at Babies’R’Us and Toys’R’Us stores nationwide from February 2015 through April 2016. They were price at about $4.

Toys‘R’Us advised parents and caregivers to immediately stop using the recalled pacifier clips and and return the pacifier clips to Babies‘R’Us or Toys‘R’Us for a refund.
