A cement truck hit a mother and her two children as they were crossing the street in Queens, New York. WABC reports that the accident occurred at the intersection of Junction Boulevard and 55th Avenue in Corona. The truck was heading south on Junction Boulevard and turning onto 55th Avenue when it struck the three victims.
According to WABC, the woman and her children were transported to Elmhurst Hospital. The mother has reportedly suffered greater injury than her children. There appears to be a long skid mark from a cement truck’s right front tire at the scene, based on a photo on WABC’s website. The driver of the cement truck is being interviewed by the police. No charges have been filed so far.

News12 Long Island reports that the 25-year-old was able to escape from her flipped 2006 Nissan Sentra on the Southern State Parkway near Exit 36. However, she was hit and killed by an oncoming vehicle while trying to return to get her possessions. News12 Long Island reports that people who had stopped to help her had urged her not to go back to the car. A police investigator said the driver who hit her did not see the woman or her vehicle because her lights were off.
