Christy, the importer, is located in Charlotte, North Carolina.
The bathrobes fail to meet the federal flammability standard for clothing textiles and pose a risk of burn injury. To date, the firm has received one report of a robe igniting. No injuries have been reported.
This recall involves women’s wrap bathrobes with long sleeves and a belt. They are made from 100 percent cotton terry cloth in aqua, ivory, white, and porcelain pink. A woven label at the neck edge of the robes read “Collection Fifty Nine.â€
The recalled Christy Women’s Robes were manufactured in Turkey and sold exclusively at Bloomingdale’s department stores nationwide and www.bloomingdales.com from January 2008 through March 2010 for about $80.
The CPSC is advising consumers to stop using the recalled bathrobes immediately and return them to the Domestics Department in any Bloomingdale’s store for a full refund. If the Bloomingdale’s store does not have a Domestics Department, the robe should be returned to the Customer Service Department. Christy’s can be reached toll-free at (800) 261-6326 or at Bloomingdale’s web site at www.bloomingdales.com.
