About 2,500 <"https://www.yourlawyer.com/practice_areas/product_liability">2009 Model Year FX10 Snowmobiles, which were distributed by the Yamaha Motor Corporation U.S.A., of Cypress, California, have been recalled, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) just announced.
A bolt in the right front “A” arm can loosen in the suspension/steering system, resulting in the sudden loss of steering control. This poses a risk of injury or death to riders. To date, no incidents or injuries have been reported.
The recall involves the 2009 FX10 snowmobiles. The following model names and numbers are affected by this recall:
FX Nytro: FX10Y
FX Nytro XTX: FX10XTY
FX Nytro RTX: FX10RTRY
FX Nytro MTX: FX10MTRY
FX Nytro RTX SE: FX10RTRSY
The recalled 2009 FX10 Snowmobiles, which were manufactured in Japan, were sold by Yamaha dealers nationwide from June 2008 through January 2010 for between $10,000 and $11,000.
The CPSC is advising consumers to immediately stop using the recalled 2009 FX10 Snowmobiles and contact an authorized Yamaha dealer to schedule a free repair. Registered owners were sent direct mail notification of this recall.
