Evenflo Car Seats Were Recalled. Due to safety concerns, Evenflo is recalling nearly 30,000 combination car seats. The company issued the recall after receiving reports that children are able to loosen the safety harness by themselves, increasing the risk of injury in the event of a car accident. The recall affects the Evolve 3-in-1 Combination Booster Seat models 34411700 and 34411741. In Canada, model 34411700C is being recalled. All recalled products were manufactured prior to February 9, 2016.
No injuries have been linked to the recall so far. Evenflo says it received 27 reports of children being able to loosen harnesses on their own. Customers affected by the recall who have registered their products on the website will be informed of the recall. The company says it will provide a replacement harness adjustment button.
Harness Adjustment Should Be Out Of Reach
This is the second time Evenflo has recalled the Evolve 3-in-1 Combination Booster Seats this year. Three models of the product were recalled in February for the same issue. “The harness adjustment is located between the feet of the child,” said Test Engineer at the Good Housekeeping Institute Gordon Grajek. “When the child is properly secure in the seat, the adjustment should be out of their reach, but some are easier to reach or press than others.”
