Toro Recycler Mowers Recalled Due To An Injury Hazard. Toro has recalled its walk behind power mower due to an injury hazard, the U.S. Consumer Products Safety Commission (CPSC) indicates on their website. The recall alert, dated April 16, 2015, states that the blade of the mower can break because an incorrect blade driver was installed during assembly. This can lead to an injury, according to the alert.
The recall affects about 800 units in the United States and 100 in Canada. The mowers, which were manufactured in Mexico, were sold in February and March 2015 in hardware, lawn and garden stores nationwide. They were priced at about $450.
Customers affected by the recall should stop using the mowers and contact Toro for a free repair, the alert states.
According the recall alert, the product is a 22-inch-walk-behind power mower with a red base and four wheels. The mower has a black handle and motor with a white bag attached for clippings. On the front of the mower, there is black plate that reads “Toro Recycler 22”. On the rear of the machine, a decal shows model number 20337 and a serial number. The serial numbers range from 315000101 to 315000983 on the recalled mowers.
