Qi wireless charger lawsuits
According to a news article posted on bgr.com, a recall has been initiated for 3-in-1 Qi wireless chargers due to fire hazards. The chargers were sold in employee rewards programs. The 3-in-1 Qi wireless chargers have caused at least four fire incidents due to a flaw that causes the charger to overheat. According to a recall bulletin by the Consumer Product Safety Commission, one incident report states that the charger caused a house fire resulting in over $6,000 in property damage.
The chargers allegedly contain defective charging electronics that cause the chargers to overheat and have caused at least four fires. The defective 3-in-1 Qi wireless charger, 6700 mAh power banks, and travel wall chargers were imported by Concap Sporswear LLC, distributed by Towsleys through its corporate redemption program.
This safety recall affects the 3-in-1 Qi wireless chargers, travel wall chargers, and 6700 mAh power banks given to employees through an employee redemption program. The white power bank comprises a two-pronged part that plugs into a wall outlet and 3 USB type plugs on the chargers’ other side. The recalled charger product is further capable of charging devices wirelessly. The Acuity heart logo is printed on the front.
If you own a 3-in-1 Qi wireless charger, the CPSC advises that you stop using the charger immediately and to contact Towsleys.
