Bestar Wall Bed Lawsuits
According to a news report posted on AZFamily.com, popular beds sold online at Costco.com, Wayfair.com, Amazon.com, and Cymax.com are being recalled after the tragic death of a 79-year-old woman. The Consumer Product Safety Recall announcement states that Bestar has issued the recall of several bed models due to reports of injuries and one reported death.
According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, the woman tragically passed away after a Bestar wall bed fell on top of the woman crushing her spine. Bestar also stated that it had received 60 incident reports. The reports state that the injuries ranged from bruising to death. According to the CPSC, the issue involved the wall beds “detaching and hitting people.”
This recall involves the following full and queen wall beds that were sold between June 2014 and March 2022:
- Audrea
- Cielo
- Edge
- Lumina
- Nebula
- Novello
- PUR
- Orion
- Versatile
Bestar is in the process of contacting all known customers directly, and those who purchased the recalled wall beds are urged to stop using the wall beds immediately. According to Consumer Product Safety Commission, those who purchased the recalled beds will receive a free inspection. In the case that the recalled wall bed needs reinstallation, Bestar is reimbursing those costs.
