FDA Updates Its “Dangerous Levels of Lead” Warning of Summitt Labs CBD Oils

Dangerous levels of lead found in CBD oils
FLORIDA – July 31, 2020 – According to an online news report from hempindustrydaily.com, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration issued an update to is recall warning page concerning Summitt Labs’ CBD oils containing dangerously high levels of lead. The FDA is so concerned about the lead contamination that the agency issued a follow-up update to spread the news about the dangerous product to protect consumers. The agency stated that the recall was issued after a state agency conducted tests to determine the contents of the company’s CBD oils. The tests discovered dangerous levels of lead in certain Summitt Labs CBD oils.
Summitt Labs is currently and voluntarily recalling its Kore Organic Watermelon CBD Oil Tincture, Lot #730 Batch #K018. The tincture is packaged in a 30-milliliter bottle. According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services performed a random sample test and discovered the Kore Organic Watermelon CBD Oil Tincture “to contain lead levels at 4.7 parts per million.”
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration wrote that it made an update to the agency’s original post and corrected the batch and lot numbers of the contaminated CBD oil.
