According to the FDA, Flowers Foods has issued a recall affecting some Tastykake Multi-Pack Cupcakes due to the presence of metal mesh wire fragments. The Flowers Foods’ Tastykake cupcake recall is being conducted as a precautionary measure. The recall announcement states that the recall was initiated after Flowers Foods received a notice from one of its ingredient vendors that there was possible metal fragment contamination.
The Tastykake cupcake products that are affected by the recall were distributed to retail shops in Maryland, Delaware, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Virginia, New York, West Virginia, and Washington DC. There have been no reported injuries connected to the recall.
