The refrigerator models are 36 inches wide and were manufactured in Mexico from February 2020 through August 2021. The recalled refrigerators were sold at Lowe’s, Home Depot, Best Buy, and other home appliance and improvement retail stores nationwide and online at BestBuy.com and Lowes.com from February 2020 through January 2022 at an approximate cost of between $1,900 to $2,500.

Those who purchased the recalled refrigerators are urged to contact GE Appliances to find out if their refrigerator is part of this recall. If so, the GE will set up a free in-home service call to replace the freezer’s handle mounting fasteners and re-installed the handle. GE will also give the affected customers instructions for safe use while waiting for the repair. All known owners are being contacted directly by GE.
