According to a new report posted on thrillist.com and other news websites, certain Jergens lotions may contain dangerous bacteria. As a result, Kao USA Inc. has initiated a voluntary recall. The recalled lotion, Jergens Ultra Healing Moisturizer, were sold in three- and 10-ounce size bottled. According to a media release published by Kao USA Inc., certain Jergens Ultra Healing Moisturizer bottles were likely contaminated with Pluralibacter gergoviae bacteria. Pluralibacter gergoviae bacteria is a safety risk for people who have health issues.
KAO USA is also removing the product from store shelves and warehouses. The recalled lotions were made between October 1, 2021, and October 18, 2021. The recalled lotion is called “Jergens Ultra Healing Moisturizer” and the 10-ounce bottle has the following Global Trade Item Number (GTIN#) is 000-19100-10998, and one of the following Lot Codes ZU722741, ZU732791, ZU722771, ZU732801, ZU722781, ZU732811, ZU732781, and ZU732821. Lot Codes for the 3-ounce bottles of “Jergens Ultra Healing Moisturizer” are ZU712851, ZU712911, ZU712861, ZU722851, ZU712871, ZU722881, and ZU712881.
Kao USA Inc. is advising consumers who purchased the recalled lotions to contact the company’s Consumer Care Center to receive a coupon to receive a free product replacement.
