According to a recall announcement published by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Lyons Magnus has initiated a recall of 53 beverage and nutritional products due to bacteria Cronobacter sakazakii contamination fears. The Lyons Magnus products were recalled after it was discovered that poor commercial sanitation procedures at Lyons Magnusz plants cause the Cronobacter sakazakii bacteria to contaminate its food products, according to the Food and Drug Administration report. Cronobacter sakazakii bacteria can lead to a rare and dangerous infection. This bacteria can be dangerous to immunocompromised people. There have not been any reported infections connected with the affected products at this time.
One of the recalled products, Oatly, has been very popular oat milk product in the United States over the past several years. Oatly has received endorsements from stars such as Natalie Portman, Jay-Z, and Oprah who each made substantial investments in the company.

The FDA did not provide any information about how the bacteria was discovered or how the agency became aware of the possible food product contamination or at which plants it the contamination happened.
Cronobacter sakazakii bacteria produces symptoms such as vomiting, fever, and urinary tract infections. Although these infections are rare, the FDA warned that immunocompromised people or other vulnerable persons are at the highest risk of suffering severe complications from the bacterial contamination. Infections are most common and dangerous to babies aged two months or younger. Elderly people are also at risk of death.
