According to an online news article posted on miamiherald.com, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration has announced the voluntary recall of Mountain Meadow Herbs’ Candida Flush endotoxin cleanser due to “forceful bursts of air.” The product is supposed to provide “gentle intestinal cleansing.”
The FDA posted the company’s recall notice stating that there is an “exploding bottle risk” in one lot of the product due to the bottles becoming pressurized over time. When the pressurized bottles are opened, the product might forcefully discharge air, capsules, and powder causing injuries to customers that could require medical attention. Mountain Meadow stated that the issue was discovered after a customer complaint.
The recall affects Mountain Meadow Herbs’ Candida Flush endotoxin cleanser bottles with a lot Number of 0120011Q that were delivered to retailers in New York, Minnesota, Indiana, Montana, Tennessee, and Ontario, Canada. The bottles were also distributed to consumers in Kentucky, Missouri, Pennsylvania, Minnesota, Indiana, Nebraska, Montana, Ohio, Wisconsin, and Virginia.
Purchasers are urged to throw the recalled bottles away or to return them to the store of purchase to receive a full refund.
