Parent’s Choice Rice Baby Cereal Recalled
A news story posted on ktla.com reports that Walmart has recalled Parent’s Choice Rice Baby Cereal due to the baby food product tested positive for high levels of inorganic arsenic. Maple Island Incorporated, the manufacturer and national distributor of Parent’s Choice Rice Baby Cereal, retails its products to Walmart. Parent’s Choice Rice Baby Cereal is sold online and in-store.
According to the FDA, Walmart was informed of the arsenic issue, and the company pulled all of its inventory of Parent’s Choice Rice Baby Cereal from its online and brick-and-mortar stores. Walmart also placed a register block on Parent’s Choice Rice Baby Cereal to prevent further sales.
Maple Island Inc. announced that it recalled three lots of Parent’s Choice Rice Baby Cereal due to elevated amounts of inorganic arsenic. The company distributed its products nationally through Walmart stores and Walmart’s website. The affected products have an expiration date of 6/24/22, 6/25/22, or 11/30/22 (UPC #00681131082907).
According to the news report, that has not been any reported injuries or illnesses associated with the Parent’s Choice Rice Baby Cereal recall. Customers who have purchased a box of recalled Parent’s Choice Rice Baby Cereal at Walmart or Amazon with the following product numbers should return the product to Walmart for a full refund:
- Parent’s Choice Rice Baby Cereal with a “best if used by date” of June 24, 2022, and a Lot Number of 21083 and a UPC Code #00681131082907
- Parent’s Choice Rice Baby Cereal with a “best if used by date” of June 25, 2022, a Lot Number 21084, and a UPC Code #00681131082907.
- Parent’s Choice Rice Baby Cereal with a “best if used by date” of November 30, 2022, a Lot Number 21242, and a UPC Code #00681131082907.
No other Parent’s Choice baby food products are affected by the recall.
