Perrigo company recalls baby formula
UNITED STATES – According to an online article at people.com, Perrigo Company has issued a recall of more than 23,000 containers of baby formula – Parent’s Choice Advantage Infant Formula Milk-Based Power with Iron – after learning that the product may contain metal. The United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) recently made an announcement across the nation regarding the recall, noting that the company is recalling 23,338 of its 35 oz containers of the formula due to “the potential presence of metal foreign matter.
The affected products have a Lot Code of C26EVFV and a “use by” date of February 26, 2021.
Thus far, it has not been reported that there were any injuries or death associated with the consumption of the baby formula.
The product is sold only at Walmart sores, and the FDA noted that customers who bought the baby formula should return it to Walmart at any location to receive a full refund. According to the FDA, if parents has questions pertaining to health that is associated with the use of the product should contact a healthcare professional. Anyone who has specific questions about the product should contact Perrigo Consumer Affairs at 866-629-6181.
“The safety of families and infants is Perrigo’s top priority,” the Perrigo Company in a statement. They further note that “[o]ur infant formula meets stringent Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations and out of an abundance of caution, we are issuing a voluntary nationwide recall of 35-ounce, 992-gram containers of Parent’s Choice Advantage Infant Formula Milk-Based Powder with Iron (Lot code: C26EVFV). No adverse events have been reported, and the recall impacts one lot of the product expiring on 2/26/21,” the statement said. “Addressing the concerns of parents is of utmost importance to Perrigo, and consumers can call Consumer Affairs with any questions at 866-629-6181. Anyone wishing to receive a refund can visit any Walmart store.”
