LAS VEGAS, NV – According to a news report on kron4.com, Real Water, Inc. announced a “precautionary recall” it Real Water brand drinking water products due to a possible link to liver disease. The company’s recall follows the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s warning concerning Real Water and its possible link to liver disease.
The recalled “Real Water” products were sold on Amazon.com and were distributed to retail stores nationwide. The recall also includes include all volumes such as the 5-gallon, 1.5 liter, 1 liter, 500 ml and gallon sized ready-to-drink bottles. The 5-gallon jugs were distributed via home or business delivery in Las Vegas, Phoenix, Arizona, and the central California coastal region. In addition, the four-ounce bottles of Real Water Concentrate, sold primarily on the company’s website is also being recalled.
According to the news report, all official distributors were notified of the recall and were directed to take all recalled “Real Water” products off of all store shelves.
The FDA is urging purchasers not to consume, sell, or cook with the Real Water products until further notice. Purchasers are also advised to throw away the recalled water immediately or return the products to the retail store of purchase to receive a full refund.
Several lawsuits have been filed against the bottled water brand as additional people have reported liver problems and other illnesses. One consumer from Nevada alleges the product caused his liver to fail and he underwent a liver transplant in September 2019.
