WoodMaster Outdoor Furnace Recalled Due To Fire Hazard. About 600 WoodMaster AFS 900 Outdoor Furnaces have been recalled by distributor Northwest Manufacturing of Red Lake Falls, Minnesota, due to fire hazard, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) just announced.
The temperature gauge on the WoodMaster AFS 900 Outdoor Furnaces can fail and cause fire in the fuel storage hopper, posing a fire and burn hazard to consumers. To date, Northwest Manufacturing is aware of 12 incidents of fire in the fuel storage hopper, three of which involved blisters and minor burns to the hands.
Recall Involves AFS 900 Outdoor Furnace
The recall involves the WoodMaster AFS 900 outdoor furnace, which were sold in green, black, brown, camo, grey, red, and taupe. The WoodMaster logo AND AFS900 appear on the front of the recalled outdoor furnace.
The recalled WoodMaster AFS 900 Outdoor Furnaces, which were manufactured in the United States, were sold at authorized plumbing and heating stores nationwide and direct sales between July 2006 and February 2009 and retailed for about $6,000.
The CPSC is advising consumers to stop using the recalled furnaces immediately and contact Northwest Manufacturing to schedule a free repair. All known consumers have been notified.
