CMD Recall Millions Of Metal Weed Cutting Blades. A California based company is recalling about 1.1 million metal weed cutting attachment blades because the blades can break off and injure consumers, the Consumer Product Safety Commission said Thursday.
CMD Received Reports Of Blades Breaking
Conceptual Marketing & Development Inc., of Lincoln, has received 16 reports of the blades breaking, resulting in a dozen injuries.
The recalled blades measure a quarter inch thick, one inch wide, four inches long and are a dull silver color. They were used with the company’s model 4650 weed cutting attachment.
The blades and attachment were sold at hardware and home improvement stores nationwide from November 1999 to December 2001 for about $15. A set of three replacement blades sold for about $6.
