Dick’s Sporting Goods Recall Golfer’s Billiard Games And Burner Camp Stoves. The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has announced two separate recalls of items sold by Dick’s Sporting Goods stores. The items include Golfer’s Billiard Games, which violate the U.S. lead standard and a burn hazard, as well as Field and Stream Dual Burner Camp Stoves.

About 2,300 Golfer’s Billiard Games have been recalled by distributors/retailers Dick’s Sporting Goods Inc. and Golf Galaxy Inc., both of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Golf Gifts and Gallery, of Powers Lake, Wisconsin is the manufacturer of the Golfer’s Billiard Games, which were made in China. The recall has been initiated because surface paints on the golf balls can contain excessive levels of lead.

The recalled golfer’s billiard game includes 15 golf balls, with exterior paint and design to resemble a billiard ball, and six putting cups. The recall involves the Acuity Golfer’s Billiard Game, Style #AC302, and the Clubhouse Golfer’s Billiard Game, Style #302; the game’s name and style number are located on the product’s packaging.

The recalled Acuity Golfer’s Billiard Games were sold at Dick’s Sporting Goods stores nationwide from October 2008 to December 2008 for about $30. The Clubhouse Golfer’s Billiard Games were sold at Golf Galaxy stores nationwide and on its Website from May 2008 to December 2008 for about $30.

Dick’s Sporting Goods Can Be Reached Toll-Free

The CPSC is advising consumers to immediately stop using the product and return it to the store where purchased for a full refund.
Dick’s Sporting Goods can be reached toll-free at (866) 677-4771 between 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. ET Monday through Friday, or at its Website at www.dickssportinggoods.com.
Golf Galaxy can be reached toll-free at (866) 465-3655 between 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. ET Monday through Friday, or at its Website at www.golfgalaxy.com.

In children and fetuses, lead exposure can cause brain and nervous system damage, behavioral and learning problems, slowed growth, hearing problems, headaches, mental and physical retardation, and behavioral and other health problems. Lead is also known to cause cancer and reproductive harm and, in adults, lead can damage the nervous system. Once poisoned by lead, no organ system is immune. Unfortunately, lead poisoning is difficult to recognize because it manifests with subtle symptoms and there are no definitive indicators that point to contamination. When faced with peculiar symptoms that do not match any one particular disease, lead poisoning should be considered.

The CPSC also announced that about 6,700 Field and Stream Dual Burner Camp Stoves, which were sold exclusively at Dick’s Sporting Goods have been recalled due to a burn hazard. The recalled Field and Stream Dual Burner Camp Stoves were manufactured in China by Rankam Group Ltd. and imported by Dick’s Sporting Goods, of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Gas in the Field and Stream Dual Burner Camp Stoves could flow at a rate that would produce higher than expected flames; rainwater in the burners can also prevent proper ignition and allow gas to build-up and ignite unexpectedly. Either condition poses burn hazards to consumers. The recalled Field and Stream Dual Burner Camp Stove is a propane-fueled portable stove. Style number “#CEH00475” is located on the product’s packaging and the “Field & Stream” logo is located on the back panel of the stove, behind the burners. The recalled Field and Stream Dual Burner Camp Stoves were sold at Dick’s Sporting Goods stores nationwide and on the firm’s Website from January 2008 to October 2008 for between $100 and $120.

The CPSC is advising consumers to stop using the camp stoves immediately, and contact Dick’s Sporting Goods to receive a free repair kit. Dick’s Sporting Goods can be reached toll-free at (888) 837-1380 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. ET Monday through Friday; by emailing the firm at CampStove@rankam.com; or by visiting the firm’s Website at www.dickssportinggoods.com.

I would like it known, to those concerned, what a wonderful job Benita Rollis did on my behalf concerning the 9/11 Victims Compensation Fund claim. Her skill and compassion made my experience with Parker Waichman one that I will not soon forget. From the very beginning, Benita approached this whole process with the knowledge and logic of a true professional and someone who clearly loves what she does. Every time the VCF threw me a curve ball during this process, Benita knew exactly how to handle it, alleviating all fears. Also, the fact that she made herself so accessible was a major comfort. Parker Waichman is a better law firm because of Benita Rollis. I will most definitely recommend her to all who may be in need of your service. Thank you Benita and thank you Parker Waichman for helping me realize justice and absolutely changing my life as well as restoring my faith in the legal system!
