Apple Slicers Are Being Recalled. A New York company is recalling about 31,000 devices that slice and core apples because the cutting blade could separate from the coring ring, causing cuts to hands and fingers.
Leifheit International Received Reports Of Injuries
Leifheit International USA Inc., of Melville, has received two reports of injuries caused by blade separation, the Consumer Product Safety Commission said Thursday.
The recalled Pro Line apple slicer/corers, made of shiny chrome metal with two handles, were sold in housewares and cooking stores from January 2001 to July 2002. Any device with a symbol code of “1” or “2” accompanied by a sequence of one or two dots on the underside of the product is included in the recall.
